PODS
Tydubh Collection
We deeply understand the significance of historical context.
Our Tydubh collection of garden pods takes its name from early dwellings found in ancient Ireland and northern Scotland. In Scots Gaelic, these ancient houses are referred to as Taigh-Dubh, which translates to 'Blackhouse.'
Blackhouses were unique in that they did not have chimneys; instead, smoke from a central hearth was allowed to filter freely through the thatched roof. This resulted in soot staining the walls both inside and out, giving the houses their distinctive black appearance.
A Blackhouse was built to endure extreme weather conditions, featuring sturdy walls and a robust roof construction.

Our aim is to channel the spirit of this ancient resilience and bond it with modern materials, concepts and techniques. Creating modular buildings that withstand all weather extremes.
